Are there any people, books, or experiences that you would be willing to share with us, that have really helped shape your mentality?

My mentality comes from my parents; my father is the do the right thing kind of guy he believes in hard work and whatever you put in is what you get out. So essentially from a child I had that hard work and help others mentality. My mother is the same way however she’s more assertive she wants things done on time and the correct way she doesn’t believe in doing things twice. Also, she is very big on self-esteem and the importance of loving yourself. My cousin Garfield has always been my right hand so anything I do he is the one that will approve anything I do for the most part.

What is the GarrisonReddProject?

Thegarrisonreddproject was started by Garfield Williams and I it is a 501c(3) not for profit. the reason we started it because we noticed through observations over a 10 plus years period that individuals were being overlooked for nothing other than what they look like. Especially the disabled so we decided that the best way to end discrimination and prejudice towards individuals with disabilities, it would be for me in particular to showcase some of my extraordinary talents in an effort to educate others that we are capable of doing everything.  Thegarrisonreddproject is for all individuals that feel they are being overlooked not just disabled individuals. We go around to schools speaking as well as local parks and recreation center.

What do you think are the most important characteristics to develop in order to pursue your ambitions?

The most important characteristic I need to develop in order to pursue my ambitions is patience. The reason I say patience is because I often expect immediate results or want to see action taken immediately after I complete a task. However, I realized that things do not go as fast as I do work ethic and intelligence is great qualities to have but patience is also needed for multiple reasons. Sometimes we get discouraged when the reward for whatever we achieved isn’t fulfilled right away. So currently I am working on developing my patience.

What do you think is the number one thing that holds people back from achieving their fitness goals?

The number one thing that holds people back from their fitness goals I think is fear. People are afraid to start for whatever reason they will often put it off for the right moment I assume I’m not sure because I am not that type of person I am a self-starter. People sometimes need to be encouraged and motivated by others to start working out when it should be the other way around. When you think it, you should just do it because ultimately, it’s your health and your body so you shouldn’t need the approval of others to start working out. Also, you have to remember working out is judgement free.

Are there any specific principles that you try and live by and why?

The principles I live by are never to give up never to quit, success equals preparation plus opportunity and hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard also to always be honest. These are the principles I live by because they are true it keeps me level-headed knowing that all I put out into the world I will receive back in other ways and some will be unimaginable.
